Integral kitchen.The owners being artists, you will find the walls adorned with lovely paintings of the surrounding area.
We are in a peaceful location, yet only 2kms from the ancient mediaeval town of Malestroit. With lovely views over the surrounding countryside and situated at the end of a quiet lane, from which one can enjoy many country rambles.Malestroit itself is a very picturesque town with the Nantes/Brest canal running through its centre, and is only a 30 minute drive to the coast. Apart from the usual small shops in the centre, there are four supermarkets and many good restaurants around Malestroit to choose from.
Most sports are catered for, and there is a large inland lake at Ploermel, which is only a ten minute drive, with man-made sandy beaches, ideal for young children. There are watersports, (wind-surfing etc.), and also a 9 hole golf course. All in all, Le Lieuvy is a superb centre for exploring Southern Brittany.
OUTSIDE: To the front of the property is an attractive gravelled sitting area with garden furniture, hedging and pot plants. A good sized garden is to the rear of the cottage, with lawned area, barbecue and garden furniture.

Electricity, gas and water are included. All bed linen is provided, but please bring your own towels. During the winter months there will be a small extra charge for heating - to be arranged with the owner. We have oil fired radiators throughout.

Q ~ What credit cards are accepted in France?
A ~ Visa and Mastercard are accepted in most shops and supermarkets. Several cashpoints in most towns.Q ~ What sports are available in the area?
A ~ Ploermel (approx 10 miles away) has a large inland lake offering all watersports. Has man-made sandy beaches. Amusements for children - swings, slides etc., paddling and swimming. Windsurfing and sailing, golf course and horse riding.Malestroit (approx 2km away) has tennis, archery and canoeing.
Monteneuf (3 miles away) has fishing and tennis

A ~ Approximately 30 minutes by car. Superb coastline with a variety of all types of beaches to suit everyone. Sea trips around the Gulf of Morbihan.Q ~ Shopping?
A ~ Shops are closed all day Monday with the exception of the supermarkets. However, in larger towns such as Vannes, Rennes etc most shops are open. The majority of shops close for lunch between 12 and 2pm.Q ~ Healthcare?

About the owners... Les Lauriers is owned by Rosemary and Louise. Rosemary has lived in France for 15 years, Louise now lives in France whilst her Graphic Design business remains in the UK. Louise and her husband Roy are also artists, and you will find many of their paintings in the holiday property.
MALESTROIT ~ nearest town to our gite....
Rest a while under the shady tree near the fishing & shooting shop, next to the pretty florist shop.
Hotel de Ville ~ Town Hall.
Market day is Thursday and this village square is filled with stalls burgeoning in vegetables, local meats, crepe makers, flower sellers. Some stallholders even wear traditional dress.
Pizzeria Restaurant ~ a good menu in both English and French. Very popular.
Pretty Flower Shop.
Saladerie ~ very good crepes and local cider. Malestroit has four Bars, where during the day, you can enjoy a coffee outside and watch the world go by.
Bicycles can be hired ~ enquire at the tourist Information office ~ cycle for miles along the Nantes/Brest Canal tow path. Cycle to the next town and have lunch!
